Adam Knepp

Chief Executive Officer

Adam Knepp is the Chief Executive Officer of US Foot and Ankle Specialists. In this role, Adam sets the strategic direction of the organization, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation. He is deeply committed to building, mentoring, and empowering his teams to thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment, ensuring the company consistently delivers outstanding patient care while supporting the communities it serves.

Adam earned a BS in Accounting from the University of Southern Indiana and an MBA from Duke University. He brings over 15 years of business development, operational, and financial management experience, with a focus on the healthcare industry. Before joining USFAS, Adam held leadership and consulting roles at National Veterinary Associates, Surgery Partners, and Deloitte, where he honed his skills in operational strategy and organizational growth.

Chris Forfar

Chief Financial Officer

Chris Forfar currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at USFAS, bringing with him a decade of financial expertise gained through various positions at RXBAR and Houlihan Lokey. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Michigan State University, where he also actively contributed as a member of the varsity hockey team.

In his role as CFO, Chris is responsible for overseeing accounting, RCM, and FP&A functions. His extensive duties encompass managing M&A activities, monitoring and optimizing cash flow, conducting budgetary analysis, assessing financial strengths and weaknesses, and forecasting monetary trends.

Jay Wilson

Chief Information Officer

As the Chief Information Officer for US Foot and Ankle, Jay Wilson is responsible for overseeing the organization’s technology strategy, implementation, and security. With over 30 years of experience in Information Technology and 20+ years in the healthcare industry, Jay brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to guide the company’s technological advancements and maximize its operational efficiency.

Jay received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Oklahoma and his Master’s in Business Administration from Boston University. Prior to joining US Foot and Ankle Specialist, he held various leadership roles in Information Technology at One Call and Concentra.

Matthew Reber

Chief Risk Officer

Matt Reber is the Chief of Compliance, Privacy, and Staff Officer for US Foot and Ankle Specialist. His role oversees the compliance and privacy within an organization, and ensures complete compliance with laws, regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures. Additionally, his responsibilities include managing teams, facilitating communications, and connecting people across organizations to ensure goals are being met.

Matt received a Masters in Health Administration from the University of Southern California and undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire History and Business Administration. He also completed the Wharton Business School Executive Leadership Program in 2019. He has more than 15 years of Healthcare Administration and Compliance experience. Prior to joining USFAS, he held various Compliance and Operational leadership roles at MedStar Health and University of Maryland Medical System.

Mark Wernsman

Senior Vice President of Operations

As Senior Vice President of Operations, Mark Wernsman is responsible for leading the operational strategy and performance of USFAS practices across the country. In this role, he works closely with executive leadership, regional teams, and support departments to optimize clinic operations, drive growth through new clinic development and acquisitions, and enhance both patient experience and staff engagement. Mark’s focus includes streamlining processes, improving key performance metrics, and supporting a strong, collaborative culture across the organization.

Mark brings over 20 years of healthcare leadership experience, most recently serving as Vice President of Operations at Upstream Rehabilitation, where he led 186 outpatient clinics across five states and oversaw significant expansion and performance improvement. He has a strong track record of building high-performing teams, launching specialty programs, and fostering cross-department collaboration. Mark holds an Executive MBA from the University of Missouri–Kansas City, a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee–Chattanooga, and dual degrees in Physical Therapy and Health Science from the University of Missouri–Columbia. His leadership and operational expertise are key to advancing the future of USFAS.

Brett Richey

Executive Chairman

Brett Richey serves as Executive Chairman and oversees mergers & acquisitions at USFAS. Since joining in June 2016, Brett has played a pivotal role in the organization’s growth, partnering with prospective practices and physicians to determine the right time and approach for joining the USFAS network.

As a key member of the Business Development team, Brett collaborates closely with the senior leadership team and Board of Directors to lead and support strategic M&A initiatives across the enterprise.

Brett brings over 20 years of experience in lower extremity healthcare, including founding and operating multiple companies in the space. He is a licensed CPA with a deep understanding of both financial and operational strategy. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Wake Forest University and holds both a JD and MBA from the University of Virginia.

Chief Development Officer

Debbie Richey is the Chief Development Officer at USFAS, where she leads mergers and acquisitions initiatives and drives strategies for organizational growth and market expansion. Since joining USFAS in June 2016, Debbie has played a key role in advancing the company’s footprint by combining data-driven decision-making with a collaborative approach to partnership opportunities. She enjoys meeting and working with prospective practices to identify win-win solutions for long-term success.

Debbie brings over 20 years of healthcare and clinical research experience to her role, having held leadership positions as CEO, CFO, COO, and CDO across multiple organizations. She has founded, owned, and operated healthcare entities, giving her a unique perspective on both the clinical and business sides of the industry. Debbie began her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she developed her foundation in accounting and business strategy as a licensed CPA.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Wake Forest University and holds both a JD and MBA from the University of Virginia.
